Software QA Engineer

As a member of Scale’s software QA team you will be responsible for creating detailed, comprehensive and well structured test plans. You will work closely with members of the engineering, product, and design team to manually and automatically test features. You know testing methodologies backwards and forwards and know which to apply when. Your excellent written and verbal skills mean that you can easily communicate issues and bug reports with clear reproducible steps. 
As a Software QA engineer, you will:
  • Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented in-order to plan, develop, write, and execute test cases
  • Define, track, and take ownership of quality metrics
  • Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
  • Highlight issues to project leads and push back on releases when quality standards are not met
  • Anticipate and communicate impacts to user workflows and anticipate pain points to suggest enhancements
This role could be a fit if you have:
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • 1+ years of Software QA testing experience
  • Experience with node.js and react or comparable technologies
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with common bug tracking systems (Ex. JIRA/ClubHouse/Github Issues/Pivotal Tracker)
  • Experience with Office products (Microsoft/Google)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR relevant field experience
Bonus/Nice to Haves:
  • 3D or game testing experience
  • Security testing familiarity
  • Machine Learning experience
  • AWS/Cloud infrastructure experience
  • Previously worked in a startup environment
